By applying engineering expertise at its best the Anaconda is the result of dedication and passion, like his small brother Cobra 2. Its predecessor has been entirely overhauled and perfected with the knowledge from long field testing.
Unlike traditional pulleys the Anaconda is customized for its particular purpose: slacklining. The new concept completely refrains from integrating pre-built components but takes it to the next level. The Anaconda is a state of the art pulley being the most efficient, lightest and compact 9:1 system for today’s slackliner.
The neat matt black surface is highly scratch resistant and gives the Anaconda a mesmerizing finish.
Life among the animal kingdom is treacherous but by fulfilling highest safety standards the Anaconda remained tenacious. All components are made of high quality stainless steel. Weight bearing aluminum parts have been dispensed altogether. The two double pulleys are each mounted on a stainless steel plate. Together they built the heart as well as the muscle of the system.
The large oval shaped center accepts numerous connections such as but not limited to:
- standard shackle eyes up to 16 mm with the eye / 18 mm with the pin
- industriy & Van Beest Green Pin shackles up to 2 t Working Load (WLL) with the eye and up to 3,25 t WLL with the pin
- oval and delta quicklinks from 8 to 12 mm
Features four multifunctional holes for connecting the rope brake Tapir, static rope or extra single pulleys to increase the mechanical advantage.
By default the Anaconda has a 9:1 base configuration which provides you with a 27:1 theoretical mechanical advantage (TMA) and has a recommended WLL of 18 kN. By adding up to four more single pulleys (13:1 base) you can increase both the TMA and WLL to 39:1 and 26 kN respectively.
The unique concept of the single pulley allows for quick one-handed attach- and detachment without the need of redundant metal connectors. Thus weight and complexity has been further optimized in favor for a clean and light solution. The overall weight to performance ratio is tremendous.
With a total of 1880 grams (including 20 m rope) the Anaconda is less than a third of the weight of similar efficient pulley systems. This allows for lighter and more compact backpacks.
Using an ultralight 6mm dyneema rope with a protective polyester sheath the need for heavy and bulky static rope is gone. The dyneema material gives the rope a nearly zero stretch which in turn makes tensioning a charm.
The Anaconda guarantees a high level of safety for all fields of application. Its innovative construction has been made simpler and more intuitive. Particular with regard to the new rope brake Tapir evolution has stepped up.
